Formerly our annual Summer Showcase, the Independent Visions Art Prize is the next evolution of our commitment to supporting independent and emerging artists.
This prize has been created to recognise creative clarity, artistic direction, and the ambition to build a thriving art practice.
Successful artists will exhibit in a professional group exhibition at Studio on Brunswick from February 4 to February 22.
With more than $11,399 AUD in prizes, this is a career-building opportunity designed to support artists who are ready to be seen, supported, and taken seriously.
Entries close January 9. Successful applicants will be notified the following Friday via email.

It is suited to artists who are:
• Building or expanding their body of work
• Ready to elevate their portfolio and strengthen their professional presence
• Looking to exhibit in a respected creative space
• Open to expanding their clarity, direction, and artistic capacity
• Focused on building sustainable momentum in their art life and ready to deepen their creative direction and artistic momentum
If you have a developing practice and a desire to grow, this prize is for you.
Entry fee:$50 AUD
Number of artworks: Up to six works
• 2D works: 50 x 50 cm or equivalent (for example 40 x 60 cm or similar area)
• 3D works: suggested maximum size 100 cm in any direction
• All mediums welcome
• Larger works may be considered upon request
• All works must be ready for safe gallery display if selected

Entries are reviewed by Studio on Brunswick staff.
Prize judging is completed by a mix of arts professionals, including guest judge Kate Marek (2025 winner of the Queens Wharf Brisbane Art Prize).
Successful applicants will be notified by email on the Friday following the entry close date.
Selected artists will exhibit at Studio on Brunswick from February 4 to February 22.
This prize is open to Australian artists nationwide. We welcome applications from Queensland, interstate, and all regions across Australia.
