Christine van Ommeren

Christine van Ommeren is an Australian multidisciplinary artist born in South West Western Australia, who is now based in Brisbane (Magandjin), Queensland. In 2026, Christine was awarded the Emerging Artist Award as part of the Independent Visions Art Prize held by Studio On Brunswick, Fortitude Valley.

Christine tells stories by creating bespoke, elegant, hand-made ceramics using an array of textures and colours. She developed a love for ceramics after winning a block of clay and instruction in an online competition in COVID.

Self-taught, Christine continues to learn new techniques to create objects to be enjoyed every day that invite connection and recently created her first ceramic lamp. Inspired by nature’s beauty and urban landscapes, Christine continues to blend modern sophistication and timeless charm.
